I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

If you’re unable to locate the tap to turn off, then you can try turning on all the cold water taps inside and outside the house to depressurise the pipework and reduce the leak.

While you are waiting, remove any significant possessions from the area, and wipe up any water or place a bucket to catch any drips. If you have turned the mains water off, also switch off the heating for the hot water as well.
